Itinerary

Day 1: Kolkata Arrival

Upon arrival at Kolkata International airport, you will be met by our representative and get transferred to your hotel.

Upon arrival, check in at The Glenburn Penthouse, located in the centre of Calcutta. Later in evening, enjoy traditional Bengali meal with Local family; enjoy a private, home-cooked meal in a local Calcutta home.

Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2 : Proceeding Kolkata

After breakfast,enjoy city tour of Kolkata.

There are a plenty of places to visit: Victoria Memorial, St John’s Church and St Paul's Cathedral, Belur Math, later enjoy a boat cruise along the Hooghly River to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple.

In the afternoon, pay homaege to the charitable works of Mother Teresa by visiting Mother Teresa's Mission and Mother House. And visit impressive structures including the Kalighat Kali Temple, Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Jain Temple and Nakhoda Mosque.

Day 3: Welcome Thimphu

After breakfast, check out from hotel. You will be assisted to transfer to Kolkata airport to connect onwards flight to Paro. On arrival, you will be greeted by our office representative and transferred to hotel in Thimpu.

Day 4: Continuing Thimphu

After breakfast, sightseeing in Thimphu valley including visit to the following: The National Library, the Institute for Zorig Chusum. Later visit Textile Museum, Simply Bhutan Museum. After lunch, take a short drive (15 km) to Pangri Zampa. Later, visit Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang). Get an overview of the Thimphu valley from the Buddha point (KuenselPhodrang). You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley. Later visit Trashichhoedzong.

Day 5: Welcome Punakha

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Punakha. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. You can spend evening exploring Punakha village located right on the bank of river.

Day 6: Continuing Punakha

Today take a short day walking to Chimi Lhakhang (from hotel it is about 15 minutes’ drive till motorable road and then walk starts through paddy fields and villages. This is total about 1 and half hour walk, including both way). Later, proceed to visit Punakha Dzong.

Optional activity:

White water rafting: Take an exciting white-water rafting route down the Mo Chhu and Samdingkha rivers.

Mountain Biking: Tours range from gentle downhill runs to more challenging routes.

Day 7: Paro Arrival

After breakfast, drive back to Paro. En route, visit Simtokha Dzong. Check in to hotel. Later, proceed to visit Ta Dzong. Afterwards, walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong.

Day 8: Proceeding Paro

After breakfast, have an excursion to Taktshang Monastery (approx. 5hrs walk). On the way back to town, have a stop at Drukgyel Dzong. Along the way, visit the Kyichu Lhakhang. Evening, have an exploratory walk around Main Street and market area.

Day 9 : Head to West Bengal

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive towards Paro International airport to connect flight for Kolkata. Upon arrival at Kolkata International airport, you will be met by our representative and get transferred to your hotel.

Day 10: West Bengal Tour

After breakfat, day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel

Village visit:

Visit Calcutta and be close to nature and rural area. Explore the surrounding villages and discover where the true heart of West Bengal lies.

Culinary Demostration:

Experience the cooking demonstration of Bengali cuisine. Fresh water fish, prawns, mustard and poppy seeds and rice were always prevalent in the area and form the mainstay of Bengali cuisine. You will be taught by the Chef the secrets to mishti doi, a classic Bengali desert etc.

Day 11: Havelokck Island Arrival

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drop at Kolkata airport to connect onwards flight to Port Blair. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our representative and assisted transfer to hotel in Havelock.

Day 12: Proceeding Havelokck Island

In morning enjoy Yoga Session at hotel. Every morning at 7.30am we lead a 60 minute group session.

Optional activity:

Birdwatching: Enjoy birdwatching at Jalakara where there is a great bird life with some of the rarest birds in the world regularly visiting the property.

Stargazing: The stars at night in the pollution and light free Andaman skies are incredibly bright. They are not to be missed.

Enjoy Spa at Hotel: A massage in our beautiful spa is an essential part of a stay at Jalakara. Our highly trained practitioner offers therapeutic deep tissue massage, relaxing aromatherapy body massage, Restorative Reiki, head & shoulder massage and reflexology foot massage.

Day 13: Continuing Havelokck Island

After breakfast, day is free for leisure and you can enjoy the optional activity avilabie at hotel.

Swim at Infinity Pool: Enjoy the infinity pool at Jalakara is lined with Italian mosaic tiles and Indian granite.

Enjoy Music: Enjoy the music system set up around the pool, made by British HiFi experts B&W. Please ask if you would like to plug in and play your own music and be respectful of other guests’ right to peace and quiet.

Enjoy Movies: We have a high definition film projector, screen and small library of films. Have a movie night if you want and we will set it all up for you.

Day 14: Final Departure

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drop at Port blair airport to connect onwards Journey.

A Great Experience in Bhutan!

This was a great experience and totally worth the money. The driver picked us up at our hotel and drove us out in the next day to Victoria Memorial, St John’s Church and St Paul's Cathedral, Belur Math, later enjoy a boat cruise along the Hooghly River to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple.It was a beautiful evening. The entertainment was really good and the food was exceptional.
