Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo Tour

Upon arrival at Colombo International airport, you will be met by our welcome ambassador and escorted to your hotel in Bentota, where you will be assisted with Check-in. Enjoy visit of Pettah Floating Markets, located on Bastian Mawatha in Pettah, a neighborhood in Colombo. Also visit Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple.

Optional:

Enjoy Sun Downer at Galle Face seaside bar: Nothing can prepare you for the magnificent terrace overlooking the ocean. It is quite simply one of the most beautiful settings for an evening drink. A cool stout, palm trees swaying and so far from the madding crowds of Colombo.

Day 2: Welcome Sigiriya

After breakfast, check out from hotel and enjoy Canal Sailing: The old Dutch Fort and the Dutch Canal would have to be Negombo's two main attractions. On arrival, check in at Water Garden Sigiriya. Later visit Angurukaamulla Temple and Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Day 3: Proceeding Sigiriya

After breakfast, enjoy visit of: Elephant Orphanage and the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa. Afterwards, explore the sacred city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is believed to have sprouted from a cutting of the Buddha’s tree of enlightenment brought here in the third century BC by Sanghamitta.

Optional activity:

Learn the art of Sri Lankan rice and curry cooking.

Sigiriya Fort by hot air ballooning: Enjoy floating at heights of 500 to 2000 feet on average.

Sunset at Pidurangula: enjoy a breathtaking views of Sigiriya from its wide summit. It's a 20-minute hike up to the top, past several small temples, a 12.5m reclining Buddha and a final tricky scramble over boulders

Day 4: Kandy Arrival

Early morning, enjoy safari excursion to Minneriya National Park. Later drive towards Kandy. Upon arrival, check in at hotel and rest of the day is free for leisure. In evening, enjoy Kandyan Dance Performance.

Day 5: Kandy Tour

After breakfast, enjoy visit of Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Then visit of 18 Centaury Botanical Garden and Commonwealth War Cemetery. Afterwards, excursion to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Optional activity:

Prayer Ceremony: Evening participate prayer ceremony in compound of Kandy temple with Buddhist priest.

Kelaniya Ganga White-water Rafting: From Kandy it is around two hours to drive towards Kitigala for a white-water rafting tour on the Kelaniya Ganga.

Day 6: Ceylon Valley Arrival

Enjoy breakfast and commence drive to Hatton and your luxurious hideaway in Sri Lanka's verdant hills. Stay in a restored bungalow in the heart of lush tea country. Settle in to your luxurious estate before embarking on a scenic train journey through the "Golden Valley of Tea."

On arrival check in at hotel and later enjoy activities like discovering the art and science of growing, harvesting and making some of the world's finest teas.

Day 7: Proceeding Ceylon Valley

After breakfast, spend day at leisure.

Optional activity:

Follow the trails of the planters, then learn from the master about caring for and harvesting the leaves of the trees. Enjoy Tea Experience or Scenic Walks.

Day 8: Welcome Koggala

Morning transfer from Sea plane to Koggale. On arrival check in at resort. Day free for leisure.

Day 9: Koggala Tour

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive towards Galle. On arrival check in at hotel and enjoy sightseeing near Galle. There are various places to visit: Galle Fort, Galle Light house, Tea Trail and Temples.

Day 10: Continuing Koggala

After breakfast, day is free for leisure.

Optional activity:

Whale Watching: take a boat trip to see these amazing creatures just an hour or so off the southern coast. Whilst out spotting Blue Whales or Sperm Whales, you may well see Spinner Dolphins and Bottle Nosed Dolphins.

Boat Trip: Take a boat trip on Koggala Lake for approximately two hours, visiting Talathuduwa Temple Island, followed by a Spice Garden. Then back in the boat and on to a small island where you will meet a couple who harvest cinnamon. Finally in the boat you circle a Bird Sanctuary before returning across the Lake for the tuk tuk ride back to the hotel.

Udawalawe National Park: Visit Udawalawe National Park, which was created in 1972 to provide habitat for wild animals, especially elephants. Covering 120 square miles, the park is inhabited by a herd of approx 250 elephants, as well as many other mammals and birds.

Bike Ride: Explore the area on bicycles, and experince the real Sri Lanka. We can arrange an escorted bike ride down to the coast, via paddy fields, finshing up at Wijaya for a swim and a cocktail.

Cookery Class: For those interested in learning more about Sri Lankan Rice and Curry, our Chefs will be happy to conduct a cookery class. Using recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation, this is a truly fascinating experience.

Day 11: Final Departure

After breakfast, check out from hotel and assisted departure transfer to Colombo airport to connect flight for onwards journey.
