Itinerary

Day 1: Sri Lanka Arrival

Upon arrival at Colombo International airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to your hotel in Negombo, where you will be assisted with Check-in. Later in evening enjoy a guided walking tour with one of hotel staff through the nearby village. Bullock cart to enjoy a tour around to explore the extent of Horathapola’s plantations. (A Bullock Cart is a carriage drawn by a bull).

Then take a bicycle ride around the village in the vicinity of our property.

Day 2: Sigiriya Tour

After breakfast, check out from hotel and enjoy Canal Sailing: The old Dutch Fort and the Dutch Canal would have to be Negombo's two main attractions. Later, visit Angurukaamulla Temple. Later drive towards Habarana. On arrival check in and rest of the day is free for leisure.

Day 3: Rest of Sigiriya

After breakfast, enjoy visit of: Elephant Orphanage and the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa. Afterwards, explore the sacred city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is believed to have sprouted from a cutting of the Buddha’s tree of enlightenment brought here in the third century BC by Sanghamitta.

Optional activity:

Learn the art of Sri Lankan rice and curry cooking.

Sigiriya Fort by hot air ballooning: Enjoy floating at heights of 500 to 2000 feet on average.

Sunset at Pidurangula: enjoy a breathtaking views of Sigiriya from its wide summit. It's a 20-minute hike up to the top, past several small temples, a 12.5m reclining Buddha and a final tricky scramble over boulders

Day 4: Kandy Arrival

Early morning, enjoy safari excursion to Minneriya National Park. Later drive towards Kandy. Upon arrival, check in at hotel and rest of the day is free for leisure. In evening, enjoy Kandyan Dance Performance.

Day 5: Proceeding Kandy

After breakfast, enjoy visit of Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Then visit of 18 Centaury Botanical Garden and Commonwealth War Cemetery.

Optional activity:

Prayer Ceremony: Evening participate prayer ceremony in compound of Kandy temple with Buddhist priest.

Kelaniya Ganga White-water Rafting: From Kandy it is around two hours to drive towards Kitigala for a white-water rafting tour on the Kelaniya Ganga.

Day 6: Ella Tour

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive towards Ella.

Optional:

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya by train, Sri Lanka: Enjoy the rail route to Nuwara Eliya, looking out for Adam's Peak in the distance on the left. After about four and a half hours, arrive at Nanu Oya station and from here there is a 15 minute drive to Nuwara Eliya.

Day free at liesure: On arrival check in at hotel and afternoon free for leisure and you can enjoy swimming in spectacular hilltop infinity pool.

Golf: The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club is one of the oldest Golf Clubs in Sri Lanka.

Day 7: Rest of Ella

Morning enjoy a yoga session at hotel.

Optional activity:

Guide nature walk: Learn about the secrets of the forest, the rich eco-system and finish with a well deserved swim in our own waterfall.

Cooking class: Hotels chefs are always delighted to pass on their knowledge of Sri Lankan cuisine through our cooking demonstrations and classes.

Hiking to Adams Peak: Adam’s Peak is a 2,243m (7,359 ft) mountain in the central highland region of Sri Lanka. Typically, the climb is started in the middle of the night; you can reach the peak for a breathtaking sunrise.

Day 8: Yala National Park Tour

After breakfast, drive towards Yala. On arrival check in at Chena Huts. Rest of the day is free for leisure.

Optional activity:

Enjoy Spa at hotel: Despite being tucked away in the wilderness, Chena Huts hosts one of the most luxurious spas in Sri Lanka, with a variety of indulgent treatments.

Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 9: Proceeding Yala National Park

Morning enjoy jeep safari at Yala National Park. Afternoon return back to hotel and day is free for leisure.

Optional activity:

Dinning under the stars: Enjoy dinner at the Basses restaurant which is decorated to an appropriately nautical theme and features urbane fine dining in a spectacularly out-of-the-way location.

Day 10: Welcome Tangalle

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Tangalle. On arrival check in at hotel. Spend day free at leisure.

Day 11: Tangalle Tour

Spend the day at leisure.

After breakfast, places to visit:

Mulgirigala Rock Temple: this temple is set on an isolated butte rising 210 Metres from the forest floor.

Tea Plantation visit: Learn about the island’s history of tea growing from Amanwella’s own experts over an afternoon cup, or visit the plantations with a guide.

Visits to traditional villages or artisans’ studios offer other insights into Sri Lankan culture within easy reach of Amanwella.

Spa and Wellness Experiences: You can enjoy massages and body treatments, using all natural products,.

Day 12: Proceeding Tangalle

After breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure and later you can enjoy the visit: Turtle watching, Village visit and Snorkeling

After breakfast, check out from hotel and transfer to Colombo airport to connect flight for onwards journey.
